Dr. Shivakumar J Nyamathi

Dr. Shivakumar J Nyamathi is a Professor in Department of Civil engineering at University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bengaluru. His expertise encompasses wetland hydrology, remote sensing and GIS, water resource system analysis and design, optimization of water resource projects, urban and peri-urban hydrology, flood studies, and modeling.

With over 30 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Nyamathi has held previous positions at STJIT – Ranebennur (1986-87), REC Bhalki (1989), WIT Sholapur (1989-98), and has been with UVCE Bangalore since 1998. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Karnataka University in 1986, followed by a Master of Technology in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal, in 1989. He then completed a Master of Science in Resources Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, under a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship from 1993 to 1995, and later received his Doctorate from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, in 2008 under the AICTE (QIP) Fellowship from the Government of India.
