Dr. Jayashree J Tonannavar

Dr. Jayashree J Tonannavar (formerly Jayashree V.Yenagi) is currently Senior Professor and Chairperson of Department of Physics, Karnatak University, Dharwad (KUD). Dr. Jayashree had a brilliant academic background, securing a second rank at BSc and is the recipient of Dr.N.R.Tawade Gold Medal at MSc from KUD.

She has over 28 years of experience in teaching at BSc. and MSc. and research. Her specialization is condensed matter physics but she worked in dye laser spectroscopy, ultimately migrating to computational modeling in molecular spectroscopy. Dr. Jayashree is the first to introduce computational modeling techniques in molecular spectroscopy research when no other university in Karnataka had taken such initiation in the year 2002. She has mastered DFT and MD simulation techniques and 16 research students so far have benefitted from her training in modeling. Dr. Jayashree has been honored with best research paper awards by VGST and by KUD. Five students have taken Ph.D under her guidance and three are currently working. At present Dr. Jayashree is a member of Academic Council at KUD. Dr. Jayashree is the alumnus of P.C. Jabin Science College, Hubballi.
