Dr. Jagdish R. Tonannavar

Dr.J.R.Tonannavar is a former Professor of Physics at Karnatak University, Dharwad (KUD) where he is currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics. He is the Fellow of Karnatak Science & Technology, Bengaluru.

He has a vast experience of over 35 years in teaching and research both at under-graduate (PUC/BE/BSc) and post-graduate level (MSc/MPhil/PhD). His research interests include experimental and computational molecular spectroscopy of diverse organic molecular systems. Dr.Tonannavar led a Vibrational Spectroscopy Research Group with Dr.Jayashree Tonannavar as the principal collaborator and both have guided 16 students for PhD.

He is a former member of the Academic Council at KUD. In his capacity as scientific administrator Dr.Tonannavar established a multi-crore analytical instrument facilities. He served on a number of committees at different places. Dr.Tonannavar is deeply interested in popularizing science and he has given popular talks, lectures and written articles. His other current interest includes an abiding interest in the history of science and its culture. Dr.J.R.Tonannavar is the alumnus of P.C.Jabin Science College, Hubballi.

Dr. Jayashree J. Tonannavar

Dr.Jayashree J. Tonannavar (formerly Jayashree V.Yenagi) is currently Senior Professor of Physics at Karnatak University, Dharwad (KUD). Dr.Jayashree had a brilliant academic background, securing a second rank at BSc and is the recipient of Dr.N.R.Tawade Gold Medal at MSc from KUD.

She has over 28 years of experience in teaching at BSc and MSc and research. Her specialization is condensed matter physics but she worked in dye laser spectroscopy, ultimately migrating to computational modeling in molecular spectroscopy. Dr.Jayashree is the first to introduce computational modeling techniques in molecular spectroscopy research when no other university in Karnataka had taken such initiation in the year 2002. She has mastered DFT and MD simulation techniques and 16 research students so far have benefitted from her training in modeling. Dr.Jayashree has been honored with best research paper awards by VGST and by KUD. Five students have taken PhD under her guidance and three are currently working. At present Dr.Jayashree is a member of Academic Council at KUD. Dr.Jayashree is the alumnus of P.C. Jabin Science College, Hubballi.

Dr. Shivakumar J Nyamathi

Dr. Shivakumar J. Nyamathi is a Professor in Water Resources Engineering at University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bengaluru. His expertise encompasses wetland hydrology, remote sensing and GIS, water resource system analysis and design, optimization of water resource projects, urban and peri-urban hydrology, flood studies, and modeling.

With over 30 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Nyamathi has held previous positions at STJIT – Ranebennur (1986-87), REC Bhalki (1989), WIT Sholapur (1989-98), and has been with UVCE Bangalore since 1998. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Karnataka University in 1986, followed by a Master of Technology in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal, in 1989. He then completed a Master of Science in Resources Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, under a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship from 1993 to 1995, and later received his Doctorate from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, in 2008 under the AICTE (QIP) Fellowship from the Government of India.

Dr. Sanketh Tonannavar

Dr. Sanketh J Tonannavar is presently Research Associate at the Department of Design and Manufacturing, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. He earned his bachelor's degree (B.E) in Mechanical Engineering from B.V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (Presently known as KLE Technological University), followed by master's degree (M.Tech) in Machine Design at PES University, Bengaluru. He obtained his doctoral degree from the Department of Design and Manufacturing, IISc, Bengaluru in 2024. His research in experimental solid mechanics focuses on exploring fracture behavior and the dynamic response of materials and structures.

Soumya S Nyamathi

Soumya S. Nyamathi is the co-founder of "S & S Knowledge Partners". She is also working as a research coordinator at the BioEnzyme Entrepreneurs Academy, Bengaluru. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from PES University, Bengaluru and followed by a Master of Technology in Water Resources Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK).

She has two years of industry-work experience (IISc, ATKINS, JACOBS) contributing to projects on hydrological modeling and stormwater drainage design. She is also a certified technical writer and Yoga instructor.
